Tamodine is one of the products along with limestone flour and spare bulbs that i allways make sure i have, it's a lot more important than some realise as infection setting in is dangerous. it is an antiseptic wound soloution to treat all cuts grazes burns ect on your reptiles. use with cotton buds to dab on to infected area. i use tamodine neat but i guess you could water it down slighty and use in a small spray bottle depending on your needs and the rep in question, but be careful not to get it everywere as it is really difficult to get out of clothing and fabrics.

It's the difference between a little cut and a serious infection. widely available and reasonably priced. it really is an essentail to me as it works so well. it doesn't bother your reps when you use it, just dab a little on a cotton bud and dab it on the wound. It holds really well and doesn't rub off easily.

Another 'must have' for the serious keeper.

This is another product that I always have in my first aid drawer. I've used it over the years on everything from alpacas to pygmy mice and have yet to see anything resembling an allergic reaction to it in any animal.
It's a very useful product for preventing infection or treating very minor infection caused by anything that isn't serious enough to warrant an immediate vet visit.
It is best applied directly to the affected area by means of a cotton bud or sterile syringe depending on the size and placement of the area being treated.

It stains. For gods sake don't spill any on your sofa. Or cat.
It's very drying. I like to use it in conjunction with aloe gel just to keep things from getting too dry and cracking

A good addition to any first aid kit for your reptiles.
Comments
Tamodine wound cleanser is great for preventing infections in small wounds (such as small bites etc)and is a good 'first aid' conponent. It is not a replacement for a vet, it is simply as it says, a wound cleanser. If the wound is large, bleeding etc then a vet visit is a must, tamodine will not 'fix' it, it simply cleanses the wound to fight off infection.

This product is one i say you should keep in your reptile collection it is good for the minor cuts and injuries that happen to reptiles it stops infections from setting in and is very easy to use. should always consult a vet as usual when an injury happens but using this when you see an injuries can stop vet bills creeping up as it should prevent any infections.

all round wound cleaner
Comments
This product is handy to have around, it is effective on minor cuts and abrasions or when used in conjunction with veterinary advice. It does help to keep infections at bay and stops minor wounds from becoming infected. As with all products like this, it is not a replacement for a vet, always seek medical advice if you are unsure or the wound looks infected or serious. All round though this is a product to keep handy should you need it.

Good all-purpose wound cleanser
Comments
It works well to keep minor cuts and abrasions clean - it seems to keep infections under control (in conjunction with a clean, sterile "hospital cage").
However, as with all of the "medications and treatments", don't be fooled into thinking it's a replacement for a vet. If your animal is bleeding lots, has bits missing from it, has obvious bacterial or fungal infections etc, don't waste time covering it in Tamodine - get it proper bet treatment.
This is more to prevent infections from setting in from minor injuries than a cure for wounds that are already infected etc.
By all means use Tamodine to keep minor cuts clean, but don't rely on it for larger wounds, advanced infections etc.

Like just about everything iodine-based, it will stain. Be careful what you do and don't get it on!
