Lucky Reptile Kricket Keeper small
|
These special plastic cages are excellent for keeping crickets before feeding them to your pets. The insects can be loaded with minerals and vitamins and can be kept for a longer time. The hiding tubes can be taken out...

Better than having them on the floor...
| Installation and Operation |
Using this product is a double edged sword. On the one hand, getting the crickets out is easy, just remove one of the dark tubes and shake into a vivarium or dusting pot (assuming the crickets have gone into it). On the other hand, when the bug grub and gel, or what ever equivalent you use, runs out, you have to take the whole lid off in order to replace it, during which time the crickets make a bid for freedom! Maintenance depends on how often you change the cricket food and water, in my experience this is once every few days.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
The performance is pretty much as I expected when I bought the keeper, its very useful in keeping the crickets in one place.
|
| Value for money |
In my opinion, this is very good value for money. You don't really have to worry about the crickets once they're in the keeper, apart from changing the food and water etc. It's also very easy to capture a couple to give to your animal.

I have not.

| Liked about it |
I like the ease with which crickets can be caught, and how easy it is to see inside. I also like how the keeper is quite small so is easy to put away.
|
| Didn't like |
It is quite difficult to change the food and water, as I mentioned above. Also, crickets tend to smell a little and the ventilation means the smell can be obvious some times. Although the tubes are a very good idea, the crickets don't always go into them, so you sometimes have to open it up anyway to catch a couple.

Crickets, Crickets everywhere!!
| Installation and Operation |
Well, there is no installation needed. When bought this has upto 4 tubes that are placed through the lid into the keeper itself, these can be removed if needed to maintain a bigger floor space for the prey.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
No, not at all!!! Easily breaks, the handle on the lid is so flimsy it broke upon carrying once. And so much for escape proof! I had dozens of crickets escape from this, so much so that i was getting annoyed of living in a rain forest.

Quite expensive for what it is - a tub that you can keep food in for your reps. There are always cheeper alternatives.

Flimsy materials
Tube caps can break easily so you will have crickets running all over the place
Not as escape proof as manufacture makes out.

Worth a go
| Installation and Operation |
It is very very easy to install the product and I didn't need to look at the instructions. It's fairly easy to maintain but the tubes a pain to clean. Due to the small sizes of cricket keepers they require a lot of maintenance, compared to a RUB or equivalent. Due to size, smell accumulates quickly.
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
I expected this product to be better than it was to be honest. Although it did the job well enough, I had to plug lots of gaps with blue tack as crickets kept escaping from it non-stop and there was no guarantee that they'd actually go into the tubes.
|
| Value for money |
The product on the whole is OK value for money. Seeing as the livefood doesn't always decide to hide inside the tubes, it's easier and much cheaper to use a plastic tank or RUB. It does however offer a couple of positives.

I've dealt with the company with other products and had no problems.

| Liked about it |
1. Good idea in essence and the tubes are very useful when they work.
2. Decent ventilation
|
| Didn't like |
1. Small space(even the large one)ensures that the crickets are crowded.
2. Although supposed to be escape proof, even the largest of crickets can escape through gaps.
Overall though it's worth trying.

Worth the money
| Installation and Operation |
Very easy to use and feed your crix to the lizard etc, easy instructions , brilliant product, and can be used with other feeder insects like locust etc .
|
| Performance vs. Expectations |
Yes it exceeds your expectations and is very good as im quite a clumsy person and i have dropped and so far thank my luck/manufacturers design the insects dont get out so no hoover needed to try and quickly pick up the insects.
|
| Value for money |
This product is great value for money and i would recomend it to anyone who doesnt like to just stick theyre hand in the cricket/ insect box and throw them in case plus your insects last longer as most insects kept for feeding die of overcrowding.

Love it!
| Installation and Operation |
Comes pre installed all you have to do is add the Crickets.
I personally find this product easy to operate, It makes life easier! Doesn't require much maintenance its self that just depends on how you maintain your crickets.
