Not Worth The Money

i think this is a good product however, it does depend on what it is being used for, if you intend to put this in a big lizards viv such as a bosc monitor or any type of monitor then this is okay since there digestive system is alot better than that of a leopard gecko or a bearded dragon. The reason i say this is because if a reptile digests sand then there is the chance that that reptile could becomes impacted and could cause death which is pretty upsetting to find out one day when you least expect it. so if you intend on using it for a bearded dragon or a leopard gecko then i would advise AGAINST this however using it for a monitor or a larger lizard i would say it is a great product

not as good as expected

this product in theory is good, but it is only available in a small bag which makes it very costly to buy in bulk for a larger vivarium. it is very dusty so needs sieving a little and as it is quite dry you need to add a large quantity of water and allow to soak for some time before use. it is very difficult to get the balance exactly right between too wet, and too damp and you need to play around with the mix ratios somewhat to get it to the desired levels. As far as this type of product goes, i have definately used simpler and better alternatives.

it is very pricey in comparison to other brands and very difficult to attain the correct level of humidity and keep it stable, on occasion when i have used this i have found it attracts nasties and starts to rot if used in a very humid set up.

Wasn't to impressed.

This product is a a bit uprated in my opinion. It comes very dusty, as it is a substrate to keep humid it needs a lot of water to get it going. For reptiles which need high humidity.

The function of this substrate is to hold good humidity for the reptile using it, it does this extremely well sometimes to well if you add to much the humidity will shoot up.

As I said above sometimes it can get out of hand and make the humidity to high and then you need to take some out and re add some dryer to mix in. I also had a problem with mites in this kind of substrate I tried a few different makes and this one gave me an infestation of mites. I'm not saying this product has mites in I was just unlucky and I would advice you put it in the over before you use it for you reptiles.

Yes the product does perform as advertised I would think it is effective for reptile use.
It is a reasonible price but I wish you could buy the bigger bags of it like by the sack full
I would say this product is an okay value for money but is worth it in the long run too.

The only problem I think I have about this item is getting inside of it lol Its hard on my fingers and hurts.
Not good for those with arthritus, like myself
However if it was to be changed I would only think it should be able to be bought in bigger bags and bulk.
