Leading brand Multi-vitamin supplement - needs appropriate usage guide.
Comments
Nutrobal multi-vitamin powder is probably considered the market leader for products of this type. It features a calcium heavy design, with the addition of Vitamin D3 and other trace elements (including most essential vitamins and minerals). As many people will know, vitamin D3 is generally synthesized in the body under conditions of UVB exposure. Being able to supplement animals which are therefore not exposed to adequate UVB radiations becomes essential.
Unfortunately this product does not have an adequate 'usage guide' which would allow customers to design an accurate supplementation regime, which is a real negative. The guidelines for usage are poor at best, and instead of recommending the use of appropriate UVB producing sources which is a much safer way of providing the correct amount of D3 to an animal, they suggest "Do not over use such lights" with reference to high out put UV sources. This would be a direct conflict to current scientific views.
Further to this, there is no mention of the rate of vitamin D3 decay (or rates for other vitamins either), which is certainly something which should be considered when you are looking at buying this product in bulk. There IS an expiry date, however this is certainly not the same thing.
In terms of ease of use, I find it generally performs well. It sticks to a variety of insects, and I have noticed no palatability issues, which can be a problem with powder supplements.

The ability to offer vitamin D3 in situations where natural synthesis is not possible is invaluble to reptile keepers, and as such is a real positive for this product.
The ease at which it sticks to invertebrate feeders makes the physical use of this product very simple.
No apparent reduction in palatability is also a real plus point.

Unfortunately accurate guidelines for the use of this product are not made available with the product, and the instructions which are provided on the label are poor. This is, in my opinion, very dangerous for a supplement which has the ability to lead to an overdose of certain ingredients. This certainly needs to be rectified.
There is no mention of the rate at which key components decay and become inactive. This means that if you have few animals of buy in bulk so that it lasts a long time, you could effectively be under supplementing your animals without realising. This also needs to be addressed.
Current scientific literature suggests that the use of UVB light is a better method of achieving required D3 levels than supplementation, and this includes for nocturnal animals also. Animals that have very limited exposure to UVB in the wild have been shown to absorb it much faster than those which have high levels of exposure, proving that they are 'designed' to use it, and will benefit from it in captive situations. Having advice on the label that goes directly against this, is in my opinion putting profit over the health of the animals.

nutrobal is a great product, has everything in needed to supply your reptile with the right balance of calcium and vitamins which help prevent your reptile from getting sick. Can be a bit over priced in some stores but if you find good value store its good value. Can be used for many different reptiles.

Definitely value for money

This super calcium supplement with D3 & other vitamins works a treat. My leos use this supplement and clearly enjoy it as they snatch up all of their food items on the 2 days when this supplement is used instead of the pure calcium one.
You get a fantastic amount of the supplement in the larger tubs such as the 250g & the 1KG tubs. I say this because the larger the quantity that you buy the better value this product becomes. So starting off with a 50g tub seems OK value for money, but then as you purchase one of the larger quantities it becomes great value for money.

Large quantity given the size of each tub.
Effective & worthwhile supplement.

Although good value for money, can be expensive.
A twisting lid might be better than the "pop off pop on" one thats on them currently.

Best out there!

This product is used for adding multivitamins to an animals diet, you sprinkle some on said animals food, and bingo. Only real downside is that it doesnt contain Calcium also, meaning you have to buy a seperate tub of calcium to add to the diet of the animal.
It's in the price bracket of £4-8 pounds, which is within competetors price bracket also.
Very good value for money, lasts about a 18 months.

Nutrobal is a multi-vitamin dusting powder which contains d3 (this is essential) especially for reptiles or lizards which need d3 to absorb calcium, this product is great although it doesn't come with usage guidelines on the tub so it can quite easliy be given too much, so i would recommend using it once or twice a week as it can cause overdose in vitamins. This product is great for eg laying females as it gives her all the vitamins and nutrients needed not only to her health but the eggs too...

this is great for reptiles keepers who have reptiles/lizards etc needing d3 and other minerals and supplements, using it to dust crickets etc, one small pinch is sufficent so it can last for quite some time, this can be used with calcium dust which is beneficial. this product is especially important to use for geckos as it stops them having traces of MBD (metabolic bone disorder) with correct usage, so a big hit with this....

not enough usage directions on the label, so a big careful with using this product as too much can cause overdose of vitamins

A high quality supplement
Comments
This is a great nutrient mix which i have always used for dusting my geckos crickets and worms on a regular basis. It is especiallyl useful during the breeding season when females need a good supply of calcium to produce healthy eggs. Although this powder provides many nutrients needed it is no substitute for gutloading which also gives your reptiles food alot of extra goodness. Great value for money and it lasts a very long time.

Great for egg laying females who need a good supply of nutrients and calcium.
My geckos have no problem with taking crickets or worms with the powder on, they take them the same as normal food.
An extremely long life once opened. One tub can last for years.

A vital addition to the diet of many reptiles!
Comments
This is a high-D3 supplement, designed to be added to the diets of any animals which may not receive or synthesise sufficient D3.
In addition to D3, it contains a plethora of other vitamins and minerals. I've not noticed any animals being put off by a light coat of dust, so I assume it doesn't taste too bad. It's a nice fine powder and sticks well to insects. As long as you're sensible it will keep for a long time once opened.
However, given how high it is in D3, I wouldn't say it was suitable for daily use - I personally use this twice a week with a light dusting of pure calcium on the other days. If you're using a high-UV MVB (such as MegaRay), I'd have a think about how much extra D3 needs to be added to the diet, and possibly switch to a non-D3-containing multivitamin. High-UV MVBs will cause the reptile to produce a lot of D3 in their skin; if you're pumping loads of extra into them via supplements it can lead to excessive amounts, causing overabsorption of calcium. This can cause a variety of problems, including calcification of internal organs.
For a regular UV tube and lightbulb setup this is fine to be used a couple of times a week.

1. Reptiles readily eat insects coated in it.
2. Long life once opened.
3. A good source of D3 and other vitamins and minerals.
|
Didn't like
1. No "D3-less" option available, which limits its use with MVBs.
2. Being so high in D3, it's easier than other supplements to overdose - go easy on it!!

Not a bad product.

This is a great product full of the main nutrients that the reptiles need including Calcium & D3. A Little pricey for my liking and find that it clumps up a lot in a humid environment. Doesn't really cling to the insects as well as I would like.
