The product does exactly what it says on the box - you put your mealworms in it so they can't escape, and your pet can pick them off as they please without risk of being nibbled. The lid is removable to aid with cleaning and it's nice and sturdy so it can't be knocked over - however with an inquisitive pet they may be able to dislodge the lid with some persistence.

The product has a natural-looking rock design which can be suited to most vivaria, and is practically escape proof. It is easy to keep clean.
|
| Didn't like |
The item is not necessarily entirely escape-proof as overfilling it invites escapees, so some degree of watching how many mealworms you're using is needed. The bulky, solid design also impedes smaller animals' viewing of the insects so those less inclined to explore it may go hungry. I personally took the lid off and used the bowl section in my crickets' faunarium to keep their food in one place!

Like jail for mealworms!
| Comments |
This can be picked up mega cheap in some stores and does exactly what is says on the box. I have not had a single mealworm escape and I have found that all my lizards are able to easily get their head in (even the bosc with his big veloceraptor head)and eat the little blighters!

| Liked about it |
1. It works well with natural setups. 2. Keeps mealworms in once place!. 3. Easy to clean.
|
| Didn't like |
There is not alot to dislike to be honest, if you were to lose the lid then it simply would then have a step inviting the mealworms to leave but otherwise it is perfect.

Very well designed
| Comments |
I very rarely have mealworms escape from this bowl, so you dont get random little Mealworm beetles flying around after they've developed!
You can pick one up for an average of just £5, which is very cheap considering it reduces the chances of mealies getting out and nibbling on your pet.
Great value for money

stops mealworms escaping...quickly
| Comments |
as all Exo-Terra products this is a well designed product that fits beautifully into most vivaria, its strong construction restricts its movement from around the vivarium or its accidental tipping over, this is a perfect way to keep your mealworms in place for long enough before they can escape so your reptile has a chance of catching them, most suitable for standard mealworms as the mini and morio worms are very prone to escaping due to the removable lid.
|
| Liked about it |
stylish and fits into virtually all vivariums and is sturdily constructed so not likely to tip over.
* keeps you meal worms from escaping for long enough so that you reptile has a chance to eat them
*removable lid allows for easy cleaning
|
| Didn't like |
the removable lid doesn't fit tightly on the bowl so it does allow for the mealworms to escape, however this problem is bigger with mini mealworms and morio worms.
*may be nice to see it in some different colours or textures

The only dish I recommend for Mealworms.
| Comments |
Unlike many products this one does EXACTLY what it says on the tin.
|
| Liked about it |
I had been annoyed for many months about not having found as uitable dish that was sturdy enough for my Leopard geckos to not constantly tip over yet was still short enough for them to feed from without the mealworms escaping - disappearing underneath my slate tiles and eating the polystyrene!
I initially shied away from these products because of what I considered an extortionate price but eventually succumbed and bought a few. No more mealworm escapees and happy well fed Geckos were the result!
If like me you're fed up with the mealworms constantly escaping your feeding dish and thus not knowing what has been eaten or what has done a steve mcqueen - just get one of these - fill it and forget! ;o)

Greatest thing invented

tired of your mealworms running all over the place and having to move things just ot find them again? well i was but then i saw this product and from the start i must say that it is well worth the money, it keeps your mealworms in place preventing them from crawling all over the vivs and it also prevents missing any you may have forgot you left in. This dish does not just have to be used for mealworms it can also be used for waxworms or maybe even a mixture to give your lizard abit of a treat. they blend in well with other things such as dessert themes and waterbowls

prevents live food from crawling all over the tank
easy to use simply put the lid on put mealies in and your done
|
| Didn't like |
The only thing i don't like about this product is that the super mealworms in which you can buy can crawl straight out of this because of there long bodies, so i wish they would make a larger one for these because i personally would buy one

"Good little product"
| Comments |
Great for use in frogs and toads viv's if you don't much like playing 'hunt the mealie' or keep having to mop up dead wet ones! I like to give my phib's a varied diet and this little dish allows me to do that without too much effort being put into cleaning dead, drowned mealies out of my semi aquatic vivs.
|
| Liked about it |
Comes in two halves so is really easy to clean - even squashed stuck on ones unstick with a little soak!
Heavy enough to stop it being knocked over or tip over when frogs and toads crawl over or land on.
Keeps all the mealies in one place for ease of cleaning (providing you don't fill it too full).
|
| Didn't like |
Apparently some lids do not fit as well as others (no problem with any of mine though).
Would be nice if the came in other 'naturalistic' shades although does not stand out too badly and not 'plastic'

Exo Terra Have done it again!
| Comments |
Exactly what it says on the tin, the bowl does its job exactly as its meant to allowing you to provide a bowl full of mealworms for your reptiles to feed from, without having to play ranch ranger to the little blighters picking them up around the viv!
Like most exo stuff its heavy so the animals can't move or tip it, its naturalistic to look good in the vivarium, its resin, no tacky plastic like the alternative Lee's mealworm bowl.
Its easy to clean, looks good and works, what more do you need?

price, if you can find one in a local shop its excellent, but a bad item for people to buy online, the price may be right but the weight of it means that you're looking at paying the same again to post it!

mealies in one place!
| Comments |
I bought one when it was on offer, just to try! I found it to be very good, kept the mealies in place and was heavy enough not be pushed around the viv or tipped over. The two halves though don't always fit together snuggly so you do have to be careful about the amount of mealies you put in it. I've got it in with my leopard geckos so it looks ok with the sand surroundings. It may however not look so good with other substrates and backgrounds,it may look a little tacky.

Worth the money
| Comments |
Great for mealies as they don't escape! may seem like alot of money but they don't seem to wear at all, and keep your viv clean and free of meal worms all over the floor! geckos seem to have no problems with eating from it, and it works well in a natural looking set up.

Useful to contain mealworms, just don't use it for morios!
| Comments |
This is a nice little dish which comes in two parts for easy cleaning. The top part includes the "lip" to stop the worms from climbing out, so having it in two parts means you can get right inside and give it all a good scrub to get rid of any clingy guts etc.
It's resin and - although not exactly beautiful - looks reasonable enough. The colour leaves a bit to be desired though and it's unlikely to fit into any kind of naturalistic setup. I suspect that the tops and bottoms are manufactured separately out of several different moulds as they don't always fit together perfectly. This isn't a problem for smaller species, but larger animals can quite easily dislodge the top if it's a poor match for the bottom. This can allow the mealworms to escape. It has all the usual advantages of resin though - it's heavier and harder to knock over than a plastic dish, and stands up to bleaching, boiling, scrubbing etc.
It is marketed as a mealworm dish, and larger worms (morio worms, hormone-loaded mealworms etc) will just walk straight out of it. Also be aware about over-filling the dish - if the dish is filled to the brim you may notice some worms working their way out of it.

Keeps mealworms pretty well contained.
* Easy to clean.
* Durable.

Morios will walk straight out of it (but in fairness it's "only" a mealworm dish).
* Tops and bottoms don't always fit together perfectly.
* Not the best looking dish around.

Good Enrichment Product
| Comments |
This dish comes in two halves, the main bottom segment into which you place your mealworms, and the top lip that is overhung inwards, so that any mealworms that climb the sides of the bowl will hit this lip and fall back down into the bowl. It's quite solid and an attractive/natural rock design providing enrichment & attractiveness. Ensuring that mealworms do not escape is quite important, as they can burrow down into the substrate never to be seen again, or worse, bother lizards whilst they sleep at night.
|
| Liked about it |
The top three things I like about this product are
- Serves it's purpose (holding mealworms) effectively & easily
- Attractive & natural looking
- Very easy to clean
|
| Didn't like |
There's nothing I don't like, just remember not to fill it right to the top, as eventually the mealworms can escape if they get past the lip. Only fill it 1/3rd to 1/2th full for it to be most effective.

I could have bought it cheaper but still good product
| Comments |
keeps every mealworm inside the dish so it does exactly what it should do.

The rim at the top can come off for cleaning. I guess it could also be used as a water bowl.It looks naturalistic.

Smaller lizards like younger geckos have trouble seing the mealworms because they hide underneath the ridge.
