It is difficult Ferretlad - when I rescued Bo the staff, the lady who brought her had children of her own! She even brought her children with her to my home when she brought Bo to me.

Not everything is always black and white unfortunately - the lady who I took Bo off refused to take her back due to being made homeless yet still tried to make me feel guilty by not keeping her with me.

I still beleive you have done the right thing Ronst3r - you gave the dogs a chance and it didn't work out - it happens

In reading your story about Bo and these two rotties... I dont understand why someone could pass dogs onto people with small children that may be a bit iffy with kids, scenario's such as these two..really make me wonder if us humans are the most intelligent species on the planet.

Sorry i havent' been able to help with these.
They are just too far away.
As I said in PM it might be an idea to make the police aware that thes people are trying to rehome them and not giving true facts to prospective owners.

It stinks of the last rottie that damaged that little boy.
They got it at well over a year and that's what happened.

I'd hate to see this happen here with these two.

I think you tried as best you could and did the right thing in giving them back. If I were you I wouldn't feel bad about reporting them to the police as I'd feel terrible if it were me and they were again rehomed and hurt someone.

How did you manage to keep your hands off the previous owners throat and not strangle them when you took the rotties back...for their lies to you about the dogs.
The person was at work when I took them back. He told me to put them in their pen at the bottom of the garden. If he was there I prolly would of done more than grab him by the throat.

I fully understand and thanks for trying to help me Saxon. I have got a few numbers that I will be passing on to him (through a friend) of rottie rescue centers. The only problem is there's none close so he might find it hard getting some one to pick them up

just a thought, the dogs may not have shown any aggression while with the old owners? All sorts of different things can affect the way a dog acts, could have been dominance, fear, new surroundings etc. The old owner could have genuinely thought the dogs were fine, but i do aggree with you about not keeping them as your familys safety should always come first. Hope they find an experienced owner for them!

But should you not have thought about how big he was gonna get before you bought him ?

Im sorry that excuse really dosnt cut it with me............being as your advertising wanting another dog...........

Im 4ft 10 inch and i am a single mum I have a huskamute, 3 siberian huskies (which are pulling dogs.......) a springer spaniel and border collie............I manage to walk all of mine and keep my son safe.............

And before you say they aint as heavy as rotties............think what they were bred to do my dogs could pull a car even a small heavy goods van on the street so dont use the weight as an issue Oh and my oldest boy is 40kilos and stands as tall as me on hinds my next oldest is tall as me on hinds and 31kilos

I agree with EmmaJ, you know what kind og dogs rotties are, you know what they can do when taking them for a walk so why go there in the first place?

its the same with all dogs, some can turn out to be really gentle, loving dogs, some can be really energetic and others can turn out nasty. It doesnt matter what the breed is, you just never know how it will turn out.

I've seen a lot of rotties with small owners, and even kids taking them for a walk. just depends on the dogs temperment.

saying she shouldnt have got it in the first place is wrong IMO, all dogs are different, you never know how it is going to turn out
