Just to let you know, Mice are fertile from the age of four weeks onwards, so its best to remove all male babies at 4 weeks old, the females can stay in with mum longer, and it will benifit them.

Hamsters........4 weeks If you leave it any longer you are likely to have unplanned litters with both hamsters and mice. Rats are about the same although I tend to leave my baby rats together until 'almost' 5 weeks old before taking out boys. Also with Syrian hamsters if you dont' take young out you 'could' in theory end up with dead young as the mother may attack them. I say 'could' because I have litter still with mother at 6 weeks, only girls, but this not the norm. Robo, chinese, cmapbells and russian hamsters can be left together providing you don't mind a population explosion!!!!!!
