when you say long ears, are they tenrecs or different? Do you know the latin name?

sorry should have said they are a hedgehog species The Long-eared Hedgehog (Hemiechinus auritus).
Tenrecs are NOT hedgehogs just convergent evolution they look similar ,hopefully a litter of tenrecs due fingers crossed.

Hi Shell
they do tame but are totally different temperament to aph'S,mine are often out in the day and one of my males balances on his hide , which is a dome!! , and begs for food , he is tame but my females are less so.
I tend to disturb them less when they have young so its a longer job taming .
As mums they are far more protective , they are just differnet to APH's. They exhibit far more of a range of behaviours, and can they run !!
