It doesn't matter if a ferret is speyed or castrated they still smell to a certain extent. The smell comes from their anal glands and unless you get them removed (which i doubt a vet would do) then they will still smell no matter what you do. Though it is lessened as the males i had that were castrated smelled less but they still smelled but nowhere near as much as my entire males! And they are clean i think easier to house train than rabbits. I had a house bunny for 3years and she lived in my kitchen, her nickname was evil bitch bunny. She lives in a new home as a house bunny still and terrorises their pet cat, it won't walk past the rabbit without a bodyguard as she's attacked it a few times!
