Are you sure that it's not a hybrid of some sort, do you know what the parents were or have pics of them? It's ears seem totally the wrong shape for an APH.

its parents r the spit ov him and its 2 brothers r az well all the young that theyve had in last 2 yrs again the spit parents and brothers r in scotland we r testin water with him

I really don't mean to be rude, but I asked Faith Morgan of the UK APH Registry to have a look at the pictures as I was convinced that an APH could not have those ear shapes.
She has said that it is either an Indian long eared hedgehog, or a Pakistan hedgehog. She has also stated that these species will not hybridise well with the APH an any offspring is likely to be infertile if bed with an APH. It being a different species would explain why it is active compared to APH also and why the ears are wrong, if it was an APH it would not change ears nor temperement because of the colour of it's skin. We don't have that many strong lines of APH in the UK and I think it's very important we keep these pure - the UK APH registry having stated this is not an APH would therefore not be able to register the offspring should it breed with an APH.
