Default *WANTED* winter white hamster food

does anybody sell or know where I could get some special food for winter white dwarf hamsters? It's the one with insects in ... I have looked everywhere but can't find any. thanks

I would mix my own, really... Use the base mix for hamsters and then ad in robin seed (which has mealworms in).

hey,

as mentioned above, i'd also highly reccomend mixing your own, you'll find it's a lot cheaper and you can mix and match depending on what your hamster eats most of

at the retreat i have always and will always feed wild bird food and other bits and bobs over the pet shop hammy / rodent mix. having read a lot on the health problems some of the ingredients in general mix causes, it's really NOT cheaper, if you're going to have to be buying a new rodent sooner than you would if you paid a few more pence and bought something better.

if you want to go ahead and mix in a few meal worms that's fab! ours love them and it's funny to watch them grab onto

and also have a look at this link on some other bits you can use to vary your hammy's diet
