Can I just ask? Did you make her rear all 17 on her own? If so, then 1. their life will be shorter. 2. They will always be smaller than they should have grown. 3. Bloody cruel to force her to rear 17.

She did raise all 17 but not entierly on her own, i did help out by puting in bread soaked in milk, which i do with my guinea pigs, which helps take some pressure of them feeding off the female, and actually none of them were really that small, i still some of the babies now and they are a really good size. Sorry if you think it was cruel. I didnt realise how many she had untill after 10 days or so as i just leave them aloan hiden in the nest, which is what they were well hiden and she was so protctive she didnt even like anyone near the cage so i did her food and water and left her to it. Then gave her a good rest between puttin a male in again.
