Just had a check and count of the babies and she's only had 8 this time and out of that 8 im pretty sure 5 are going to be nakeds as you can see the shadowing of the hair com ing through on the other and 5 i think are going to be bald are still bright pink.

Hairless rats that have pigment still start to show that pigment at the same age as if they would be furry

Oh thanks, never breed nakeds before, mummy rat hasnt got any pigmant to her, neather has dad really although he does have some bits of hair. Mum only has hair on her face and that is it and its dark coloured.
Im hoping that the 5 with no pigmant will be bald, i just thought as they had no pigmant they would be. Fingers croosed.
Mum and dad are both dumbos aswell.

If both parents are hairless, all of the babies SHOULD be hairless, as well... Unless the parents each have a different hairless gene (there are a couple genes that produce hairlessness)

Pics don't help in determining the different genes for hairlessness... Only breeding two together can prove what the parents are. If it's two different genes, all of the babies would be furry, but carry both gene (unless one of the parents carries both genes, then you could end up with hairless rats that carry another gene for hairlessness). And double rex rats are sometimes hairless, but sometimes completely furred. Just varies.

Sadly I only have 5 left, i think mum has eaten the others for some reason, she raised her last litter of 17 really well and they all survived. These things happen though i supose.
So i now have 3 of the ones i think will be bald and 2 of the others.
