I've seen these on another forum.

I thought a 'true' hairless had no fuzz???

I have true 'totally hairless' hairless rats and naked's with a little fuzz.

I was told the totally hairless, as they were from two hairless parents, were ture hairless whereas the tow who have a little fuzz, coming from male hairless and female coated parents weren't true hairless but probably double rex!!!!

I would love the female hairless though if you're not too far away. Or we could arrange a train. I'm coming to Huddersfield shortly and Leconfield. Both in Yorkshire.

P.S did you ask about my pearl essex/berkshire on the other forum or was it soomeone else???

yep that was me asking about your pearl girl on another forum and i will check with my other half if we can meet with you atall

i have bred this line of hairless before and once they get to about 5 weeks old the fuzz they have totally drops out and they look so so cute and totally bald.
i do have rex aswell in the litter but only one of the parents is rex even though i have had double rex in a litter last year along with hairless but it is to hard to tell them apart 100% unless you breed them to find out if they are rex or hairless so i dont breed these any more. (double rex)

this is a double rex i bred last year
both parents are rex

and here is a hairless i bred last year.
both parents had hairless parents themselfs so were both hets

the differnce in the two is slight but the one in the bottom has no fuzz atall and only very very tight wiskers after he dropped it on his firlst moult and the second one has hair sometimes and non other times and slightly looser wiskers.

They are both gorgeous.

My little pearls are all girls in this litter. They are onloy a week old now though.

I have my little double rex black berkshire that I'm thinking of breeding to the dark hairless boy I have. She still has her coat in but apparently she loses it when she moults and looks 'motheaten'. I can't wait to see her during moult!!!!
I'd love a little hairless girl but I wouldn't breed her I'd be too scared she couldn't feed the babies. Have you bred a hairless doe before?? If so did you have any problems??
