Default ??? Poss. Parrot rehome ???

Firstly I am not looking for "freebie" birds. £££ available for the right bird.

Have spent the last couple of months trying to decide how to expand the Meldrew Minagerie (S'cuse spelling)

Although I love all my animals/reptiles I get the most pleasure from my dogs and my birds.

Having rehomed 2 EBT youngsters in this last 12 months I've no room for any more dogs......

Soooo, birdies it is..... will be saving like mad for my next parrot, but will be considering a rehome...

So if anyone is looking for a good new home for their parrot, for whatever reason.... please consider me.

Will travel to collect.

Go to the parrot society who do have a section for rescue birds these days and see if they've got any needing a rehome in you're area.

there are millions of parrots that need rehoming, just ceck certain websites, we have rehomes over 12 parrots in the last 5 years, without advertising once, we just get our number passed around we currently only have 5, and all of them were rehomes. some we managed to find new homes for, and some sadly passed due to old age!!

good luck!! and rehoming is definatly the best idea!! people have no idea how many parrots need new homes!

I'm sooooo excited.......

Am going to see "Bounty" the African Grey on Tuesday.

He can't stay with his current owner as the poor bloke has developed a severe allergy.

He's not as tame as I would have liked (ie. will sit on my shoulder and be carried around) but he's only 4 1/2 and does like to be stroked and touched........ so plenty of time to work on that.

He apparently has a huge vocab. already and barks, clucks, meows and quacks......... Oh and he likes to insult people by calling them a Fat Slug!!!!

Gonna have to bribe the kids not to teach him to swear....

Will keep you all posted!!!!!

Still looking to rehome.

Bounty managed to find a wonderful new home, before I was able to drive up and see him.

oh...i'm sorry you missed out on Bounty. One thing I will say is don't go see one and the minute you see it say "I'll have it" make sure if it is handreared you can get it out. make sure you BOTH like each other. I have a customer and they went to get a grey, spoke to it outside the cage, fed it treats and thought "great! we'll have him!" They got home and got him out after a couple of days and he hates the man, so much that he has attacked him! Now when they saw him the bird loved the man.
So as I said, make sure you are able to handle the bird if it is hand reared/hand tame.
