Its not needed to have 2 if you spend an extreme amount of time with them and in an ideal world you would like to keep 2 which some people do

IMO it is necessary to have at least 2, you've said that other people's opinions will be ignored so fair enough I'm not guna clutter up your thread. But I think you are doing the right thing buying another as it's completely unnatural for them to be kept alone, no matter how much attention they get from humans.
