Default Free to very good home - 15 rats (South Wales)

Sadly we have to get rid of our 15 rats (all different colours)
They have been with us for a very long time and I am crying writing this, but I have no choice.
We have 7 boys in one cage and 8 girls in another.
The boys are quite big and very very friendly. Tow of them I really want to keep, but dont think they should be seperated from the rest.
The 8 girls are small for their age. Two of them are mothers to the rest and to the boys.
We have raised them since they were born. They have been handled since they were born.
Can be with or without cages, but must be able to pick up or close enough to travel.
The boys cage has a few bars missing on the back (rat wheel incident)
and so needs to be pressed up against the wall so they dont get out.
We will of course patch this up for the trip.
The cages are chewed up on the base with some marks and the boys cage is rusty.

The following I cannot stress enough:

Must be given to a loving home that will clean them out reguarly, have them out to play and taken to the vet whenever they are ill.

Must be given to a home where the people know about rats and their needs etc, and what illnesses they can get.

Must be given to a home together. Will not have them seperated.

FOR PETS. NOT TO BE USED AS FEEDERS!!!

The one agouti male is on meds at the moment. Ill have to write the name down on a later post. He has 2ml a day of this medicine in a syringe only as he has a lump on his cheek. He has been on baytril for a few weeks, and hes just started this different medicine for 2 weeks and then he must go back for a checkup. If it is no better he may have to have surgery. Please make sure you can provide all this for him and the others if they may get sick. I want to know none are going to be put down because of these things without the right treatment.

I will have to ready myself first as this is a huge thing for me and I really dont want them to go. I am just putting this up for interest.
If you are interested please allow me a little time.

Reason for ad: As much as we love them, we cannot look after them properly anymore. We cannont have them out and cannot clean them out anywhere near as often as we should, plus they do get stinky when not cleaned and my boyfriend is on dialysis waiting for a transplant which he wont be able to have unless they go.

Try Fancy Rats | Home

There is a rehoming section on there.
I would help but no room for another cage and 7/8 more rats!
Goodluck.

There is a rat rescue in Devon (Siobian), another one in Manchester, and another one in Leicester (the Underwoods). I have known them all for a number of years and can recommend any of them. All the rats are looked on as members of the family and really loved. If you want details of them, please pm me....sorry to hear you are having to rehome. xxx
