Default Robins Nest

Just thought I would share a pic of a robins nest with some 2 week old robins in it. This was taken with new digi cam today and the Robins nest is in a planter thingy on my parents wall. Funny thing about it, is the mummy robin uses the dogs fur to make the nest.

Hope you like!

Cute!

A few weeks back I saw a goldfinch bulding a nest in my garden hedge, when I took a close look I saw it had been using our dog's hair too.

It also used the fluff from her ball which it found in the garden, it's a flourescent green/yellow tennis ball and I saw it tearing tufts off and flying back to the nest with them.

The nest is an odd mix of flourescent and golden!

Haha that must be quite a site. I guess its bloody good for building nests tho - if it keeps dogs warm - must be able to keep little birdies warm.

i have a robin's nest in my backyard... but she raised all of her babies as of last week. a total of three nests in my yard... robin, mourning dove and a cardinal nest right in front of my window... it's fun watching them.

We groom our animals outside whenever possible and the birds all flock around picking up the hair as it floats about! The long haired GSD's was especially popular when we had him, cos it came out in big lumps that they could pick up and carry off easily.

Atm we have Blackbird, Thrush, Collared Dove, Wren, Goldfinch, Magpie, and multiple House Sparrow nests all active in the garden.

No Robins that I'm aware of although there are plenty around, they must be nesting in adjacent gardens and woods.

That is so cute. We have a robin that comes and sits on the handle of our patio doors! It is so sweet, but he does poo all over the handle!
