I did talk to the Gccf, but needed to go to great lengths to complain, I did get as far as getting a statement from my vets, but then decided it just was not worth the hassle as things were getting rather unpleasant.
I had seen photographs of where the breeders lived etc, but they lived so far away and it was agreed mutually that meeting halfway would suit both parties. The breeder was actually very good re communication up til this point and even held the kitten back an extra couple of weeks as she felt it was not up to size - but maybe the alarm bells should have rang then. Its a breeder in west Wales.

GCCF are pretty much a waste of space when it comes to some things, I have to say!
Hmmm... well I guess you learned a hard lesson there! No doubt if you'd have gone to the house and looked at the kittens, you would have seen warning signs like watery eyes, that would have rung alarm bells! Maybe she kept it back cos she was trying to conceal there was a problem and waiting for it to improve? With so many bengal breeders about and so many kittens being bred, (for the last 4 years they've been in the top 4 breeds for number of kittens registered) maybe you should have hung on until you found a breeder near enough to go and choose a kitten yourself, but of course it's all hindsight now and as long as you are happy with your girl, that's what's most important now.
