Yes, that'll be why their separate. All rodents breed like mad.
Gerbils have less young then mice and rats, so not quite as bad.

I also bought these at different times from different places. I could'nt leave the pet shop without Ash and he needed company so i got Kuro with him. And i'd be waiting for Caramel and Snowdrop for a few weeks from Riley.
So i have two separate tanks cause their so gorgeous. lol

They've grown loads since you had them Jinx, they look lovely and healthy. We had an escapee last weekend after Elliot cleaned the gerbils out and didn't put the top back on properly, luckily we found him before the dog did!

We just got a new syrian hamster which is ridiculously tame! Will post pics on another thread.
