Default Butterfly :)

brought some caterpillars back from my mum's, cuz they were eating her veg...

i think the idea was to feed them to the beardies, but i put them in a sweetie jar, and fed them green stuff instead...

i like the way these came out, so i thought i would share...

Sami

Great pics. I remember years ago going to a shop in Whitchurch in Hampshire and they had loads of caterpillars and pupae to buy and breed, so I bought some moth caterpillars and brought them home. Kept them in an propagator until they pupated. It was really interesting watching them hatch out into moths and then lay their eggs, which I kept until the next spring when they all hatched out into little caterpillars and then I set them free in the garden. The kids loved it all!

there are a load more chrysalis in the tub upstairs.. i think i've lost some to a wierd predatory insect though.. one of those that lays eggs in caterpillars. there's some wierd yellow eggs, wrapped in some silky stuff.
