Hey all

My missus wants a parrot/bird of some kind. She doesnt know what yet so i would appreciate it if we could see some of yours. She doesnt want anything to big as we dont have all the room in the world.

Hiya, it really does depend on the amount of time u can spend with your bird as too which to get....while a budgie will be happy playing with toys in its cage a larger parrot such as greys, amazons etc require ALOT more stimulation, time, money and patience!!!

We have 2 senegal parrots....little birds BIG parrot attitude!!

they are some cute birds and about the size i was thinking.

the missus is usually in most of the day and i am in every night so there is usually at least 1 person at home for the majority of the time.

Just make sure u spend the money and get a hand reared baby....else they are buggers!!! and mind that beak cos they do get fiesty but our male is just starting to talk too so thats a bonus!!

Well we paid £300 each for them as they were hand reared and closed rung with all paperwork....u can get them cheaper but i truly believe that to pay the extra bit should ensure u get a good bird......Br prepared for noise tho cos they do like to make them selves heard!!! Little trick we found works with ours is either talk to them in a firm but calm voice (dont shout as this makes them only shout back at you louder!!lol) and if not that then give them a time out by covering the cage for a bit!!

My mum has a couple of boring budgiies (I hate budgies) called jolie and burtie I keep saying to her they will make a great meal for my snake once they die.

he/she (dont know the sex) is a right royal pain but we love him/her , he was hand reared and is tame , talking a huge amount at the minute although he is only just over 12 months old , but he can really get on your nerves when watching the tv as he wants attention all the time and shouts and sqawks at you untill you talk to him or play toys with him
