They're gorgeous!! And good on you for taking in poor Tubbs - how grossly unfair and appalling to even think of killing an animal because it can't be trained to do a specific job. Every animal has its place and I bet he's great at other things!

when i first saw Tubbs he was about half the weight he should have been, he had broken ribs a broken nose and a broken tail and if u so much as raised ur arm above ur head he thot u were going to hit him.

Its taken a good two years to get him fully settled but he is a different dog now and loves carrying slippers/shoes all over the house then settling in front of the fire after a two hour walk. he is so loving and gentle i cant believe what his last owner subjected him to.

I suppose the idiot thought if he beat him enough he'd do what he wanted??? Like the dog was deliberately NOT doing what he wanted. Shows how little he understands dogs! It's so unfair. Glad you've got him now!

thanks v much, i dont think Tubbs is the smartest tool in the box and i do believe that guy thot he was doing it deliberately i mean dogs dont work like that. just glad that his career in the gundog business is over as they found out what he was doing to his dogs so ive been told!

Even better!!!

My friend is renting a cottage on a farm and a local bird of prey centre guy comes hunting there with his birds. He also brings 3 working dogs with him and she says he's OK with 2 of them, but he's horrible to the spaniel. She saw him kick it and then pick it up by the collar and back and throw it in his landrover. She says she's watching him now cos he's often there and if she sees him doing it again she's gonna go over and bollock him!

i suppose some of them are still working in the 'old school' way of training dogs, its just not right tho. I hope your friend will put in extra effort for me when she does it, see how he likes it!!!
