Give me a pit viper to poke at any day, i'm not an elapid person, plus i'm man enough to admit that i'm no match for an elapid that for thousands of years has been able to hit "eye" accurately from 8 feet away with it's venom.

"don't let it get it's teeth in you" is a basic rule I can deal with but to me spitting snakes are like russian roulette!

I know the are managable by someone who knows what they are doing, but they make me uncomfortable enough for me to feel unsafe around them which for me and hot snakes means I won't touch them.

uncomfortable = unsafe. I know if I go too far out of my comfort zone accidents will happen.

(basically like I say, i'm a pussy )

Spitting is rude. I wouldn't put up with a Mrs who spits ( ) neither shall I tolerate some little (or big!) punk of a cobra spitting at me. It's rude, it makes me angry and If I was blinded I wouldn't be able to letch, which is one of my hobbies.

im with you on that one mate, cobras are the only elapids that really apeal to me, but I wouldnt own one, il stick to vipers for the forseeable future.
