Right, I really have stirred something here. I thought venomous or potentially dangerous animals wouldn't be covered by the freedom of movement agreement, due to national or local restrictions on certain animals. Also as these are live stock they could have to be registered for export, not at all sure just a thought.

I am not in a situation to keep hots nor do I have an interst in acquiring one. I was just intrigued by the idea of how people here would get them from Britain or the continent. I could easily image people transporting them via car ferries, lets face it if a human can sneak into a country via them moving a few hots would be relatively easy.

It is a tricky one, given that it is moving animals from one country that is regulated to one with very little regulation.

Default transport

As far as transport goes if its your own animal (herp) then the responsibility is your own.

We however as a reputable company have both a DWA licence and an animal transport licence allowing us to theoretically transport any type of herp within the UK.....

In transporting "hots" our vehicles have a waning notice on the outside of the car and locked transport boxes which are very highly insulated.
