Default would there be a market

If there was good quality handling equipment, brought to the UK who would buy it? would it be worth doing, all my stuff comes straight from midwest at the moment but its hassle coming from the states.

Hi have a large collection of Midwest equipment but it is a pain buying from the states, i went over there recently and took advantage of my trip.

I have made some of my equipment and it works just fine.

whos that Pete normally I get stuff from this guy on ebay, whos from the US, its cheaper than directly from midwest but probably cheaper to get it from people in the UK. I just want to be able to get stuff without the hassle of it coming from the states really.

I did contact Mark Amey actually, he said that they only do it once in a while though. The stuff I got from the states took 3 weeks in the end.

Default handling stuff

We used to import a lot from the guys a midwest but ended up stuck with stock for months/years.....financially not viable so we dont bother anymore...

Also our insurers were well a bit twitchy about the implications of selling and being sued by dickheads........

I have ordered directly from midwest and found them really easy to deal with. I send my order, and it turns up with UPS (who deal with all the duty at the airport) around a week later.

I think it works out just as expensive, if not more so, to buy from a dealer here as it does to ship in from America. Any retailer in the UK would need to add shipping costs onto their price, plus add a mark-up to make profit. I think collapsible M1 tongs would retail here for around £100 in the UK after shipping, duty and mark-up was added on, i paid about £70 (after shipping and duty) dealing direct with midwest, although i did bring other items over aswell to justify the shipping.
