most reptile shows in the UK and europe, any decent reptile shop should be able to source one for you or failing that monitor the classified sites (not just the ones on here).

Perhaps not that many about at the minute but they are easy to find once it's not this time of year again.

If you're planning on using them as a 'training animal' for hots I wouldn't bother, unless you buy a very agressive adult or buy a hatchling and don't handle it at all generally they are very calm animals and very forgiving.

I only say this because you posted in the DWA section and you don't need a DWA for an FWC/brazilian smooth snake.

Any reptile shop will be able to get you one in no hassle.. bad time of year but even so, they are out there.

However since you have posted this in the DWA section I am gong to recommend you dont buy one.. they are not DWA animals and you should really have known this before you even looked at sourcing one.

I have kept lots of falsies, they are indeed my "pet" species, I adore them and have spent a good deal of my time studying them. Whilst Mason claims most are very forgiving this is only true of CB animals and even then only those who have had confident, consistent handling.

They are very fast and their feeding response is outrageous! Some of mine have just sat with their mouths open waiting for food whilst others will literally leap from the viv when they smell dinner defrosting. They dont care what they hit either.. their aim is poor and hands are fair game.

Their nasty reputation is admittedly not entirely deserved as most tame easily with handling, but there are plenty of adults out there that are not tame and will not settle well.

Almost all are also viv territorial to some degree, not a problem for someone who has kept a few snappy snakes (indeed even a few stressy kingsnakes!) but for someone with a hoggy, corn and rainbow boa.. well.. make sure you buy yourself a youngster. Those "grow into" their attitude a little and then settle, whereas poorly handled adults are never trustworthy, even once "tamed down".

sorry Yes I have never had any experience with WC animals of this species or ones that have not been handled.

I worked a shop which had a 7ftish female which belonged to the owner. Dunno if it was WC or just never been handled. Either way it turned the hobby from being fun to a proper chore. I've dealt with lots of mean snakes but that one just wasn't fun. It chased the owner down a flight of stairs once and muggins here had to run after it to recapture - to be fair it was me who let it out. It also chased the owner on a couple of other occasions and bit him twice (seperate incidents). I was glad it did though as he truely deserved it.
