For me the most important were accesible tools. It doesnt matter whether you have everything its whether they are there when you want them. I have multipes of everything placed around the room. I currently have
6 various hooks 4 Tongs from 24" up to 60" 2 Gentle Giant Tongs 13 tubes from 0.25" up to 5" diameter 6 Hemostats from 8" upto 24" 6 Tweezers from 8" upto 24" 1 Full face sheild 1 Pair of studded restraint gloves 4 Catch Boxes/Transport Boxes 6 Sheilds As well as this i couldnt emphasize how important i feel good qaulity rubber gloves are. They do not hinder hook work yet save any complications when snake venom is on cage doors furniture etc. As well as the above i kept a bite kit cosisting of bandages, bite extraction kit, protocols, etc as well as two epi pens in case of anaphalaxis. etc Any more info let me know |

it's not exactly equipment but one thing i'd class as essential (no hots here yet but it's the same for us with large boids) is a TIDY "reptile room" and tidy area to work.
Obviously "reptile room" would be wherever the hots are. Tidy and obstruction/clutter free. All of our clutter is in one corner of the room shelved/piled leaving the bulk of the floor and a table free for whatever we need to get done.
