I just wondered why bulb guards are so expensive - I mean they're just a bit of metal mesh so why do they cost £15+ ?
Has anybody ever tried making their own? If so how did it go and where did you get the materials. I know they're really important but they seem extortionate for what they are.

I think this might be a new challenge for my father. I can't imagine they're that difficult to make even if they take a bit of time. He's retired so has loads of time and is really good at making stuff like this. The only problem is he doesn't like reptiles very much.
