Yes Its Safe, Its What Lots Of Vivs Are Made From, What Were U Hoping To Build The Viv For?.....

Yes its often used. But the middle of it contains chipboard that can soak up water and distort so it is best to seal all the joins.

If you mean contiboard or melamine faced chipboard - yes, so long as it's not for a high humidity viv. Seal all cut ends and joints.

even for a dry viv it's worth going round the joints with aquarium sealant on a melamine viv, this will stop nasty bacteria getting into the bits between the wood and breeding.
just make sure it has adequate ventilation.

i use it ok stuff but dont expect a viv for life mine are fully sealed but in some of mine cracks and lumps have appeared here and there so im building new as we speak this time with perspex coated floors
