Default help with heating viv

originally posted in the lizard section

i bought this viv yesterday 2nd hand, he had a beardie in it which i want as well, he said all the themostats set up for a bearded so just plug it all in which i have.

now the cool end is 28 but the hot end only comes up as 32, is that ok as thought i needed it to be more like 40? ive put another rock under the 1 by the basking light to make it closer to the lamp, should the whole hot end be 40 though or just the basking spot?

also what times should he lights be on from and to? ive just got them set for 7-7 at the moment

The bulb shouldnt really be on a slant like that it should be straight as it makes it harder to get a basking spot
