what eggs are you incubating Dave? I breed BD's and mine is 100% never had a problem......

All my eggs are in tubs as long as i keep a eye a few times a week on Condensation in the tubs then all is good yet to lose an egg

yes that works fine then you running it off a heat mat and stat then ru?
i have done mine the other way which is a rasied shelf across the polybox then water underneath this heated with a fish tank heater because of all the water i will always have 100% humidity,

All my eggs are in cricket tubs as with you using vermiculite substrate

I wouldn't worry too much dave just watch the vermiculite dont get to wet, when u squeeze it between your fingers it should not drip
