Default red zoomed bulbs burn easy?

i have gone through 3 red zoomed bulbs in the last week they keep burning on me. I have looked at the lamp but it does not look faulty at all. I use a 100w bulb in a clamp light good up to 150 (so the sticker says but the porcelain part of the lamp says 200.) I just wanted to know if anyone has any idea what could be the deal and what i should do about it.

I am just using a clamp lamp with up to 150w. i just have it straight into wall. the lamps switch is a fade dial that controls how bright it is. I use it on full power as it should be able to take it. i had one in when i first got it and it lasted a while. Then it burnt out and so did the two after. the last two lasted at most an hour. I guess this means it has to have been the lamp but I have no clue where to check i looked it over for shorts but to no avail. Im just lost should i just toss the lamp n get a new one? I am going to put a reg house bulb in it and see if it pops to. these nocturnal red bulbs are 17 a pop.

un plug it,and check the connections in the plug. if its a sealed plug, chop it off and put a new one on. then try a normal bulb in it. if ok it was prob a loose connection in the plug. if it still fails chop the cable were it goes into the dimmer from the lamp and put a plug on there and again try it. its more than likely a looses terminal in one of those. also check connections in the lamp holder too if you can get into there. if there is a loose terminal the item will draw more current thus blowing it. hope that helps. yea I am goin to try that if i have any more trouble. the last bulb i got is lasting, the shop said its probably a bad batch of bulbs because the ones i got that blew were from the same bunch. i am going to check the connections again tonight to double check after lights out.
