Default My glass is cutting into my plastic runners

ive just built my own viv and put the glass in

when i open or shut the viv, the glass scrapes the plaastic off the bottom and is really hard to open/close

what can i use to round the corners of the glass?

the first thing that came into my head was sandpaper but i dunno if that would work on glass

any advice?

I'm not sure how you do it yourself but, if you could always ring around your local glazers and see if they will round them off for you?

Glaziers normally charge rather more than the cost of the glass to do it, but you can do it yourself by sanding the edges with a piece of emery cloth. Wrap the cloth round a block of wood, and support the edge of the glass by hanging it just over the edge of a table.

Hmmm... sounds like those in the know have spoken! I will remember the tip for when I come to build myself.

You need to remove the sharp edges on corners of glass as they are shaving bottom runner. Use fine or medium wet/dry used wet if poss or oil stone also wet, be careful if using oil stone as if you hit glass a little hard or on the edge it will chip. It should only take 15 seconds or so to round the corner and you will easily see it.
If glazier did not take sharp edges of all glass sides then do the same on all edges even though they may not feel sharp or cut, as said before best to use a small block of wood around wet n dry.
It may help to lay glass on top of news paper on table for support.

An oil stone is used for sharpening blades.

It's a dense fine stone that you put oil on to lubricate the surface.
