Default home made

Ok, does anyone ever find that they hunt round their home looking for items they can transform into something useful for their rep, I have found myself doing this, I am thinking of making just a make shift rain device to help simulate maybe a wet season. anyone else done this or come up with some really useful home made stuff.

That sounds like a great idea, im just wondering how you would go about draining the tank to prevent water-logging?

It should be simple enough to rig up a "rain maker" using a simple pump, although you couldnt re-use the same water, because it would filter v.slowly through the substrate.

Love to see some plans though.

If you made the floor of the Viv slant very slightly, you could use guttering at the bottom to collect the water to get it out, and maybe guttering or hose with holes in around the top of the Viv for the rain, hmm...

Very good idea, Let us know how that goes.

I've used Tesco value tupperware boxes for water bowls and cereal containers (the tall plastic boxes that are made to store cereals in) on their sides as humidity boxes, best things for them coz it stops the humidity escaping so much and has an entry hole built in.

I use brown nescafe lids as water bowls for my T's. I used a square icecream tub for my scorpions water and a round muller light yoghurt pot as water for my millipedes. I've got a small clear disposable party bowl for water for my frog.

I use perspex sheets to cover mesh on exo terra tanks, although that's not lying around the house I have to buy it.

I love the 99p shop for stuff that can be turned into reptile equipment. So far I've set up a meal worm breeding system, made various travel boxes and temporary accommodations, humid hides, food bowls, substrates, arboreal hides and goodness knows what else all out of really cheap stuff.
