Default Questions for people who have those ceramic complete kits from E-bay........

Hi, I was wondering what the top of the bulb holder is like, ie does it have a hook or anything? Or do you have to hang it by the cable using some sort of clip or hook on your viv lid?

Are the any particular guards that are most suitable for these bulbs?

I plan on using a dimmer stat with this to prolong the life of the bulb, I wouldn't want it switching on and off all the time. I think I'll go for the 100w bulb, my viv is 30x15x15.

Has anyone had any problems with these kits or are they good? It's just that it sounds a little too good to be true at that price, lol. It would cost a lot more to buy all this from a reptile shop.

Any help much appreciated, cheers

We've got two of these and would recommend them, think theres already been a thread about them.

Ours are screwed on - there are two holes in the ceramic bulb holder (dont think screws came with it).

Think the 100w will be fine for the size of your viv, we have a 3ft x2x2 heated by 150w

With the guards we made our own- bought a sheet of wire mesh from a hardware store for £3.

Lastly! Think the reason they are so cheap is because they are selling them direct, these guys make them. Also were really helpful when we swapped them. Only had them for a month so cant comment on the longevity but track record so far is great!

I bought one of these kits from ebay, the company is called Solaris Heat.
Their Customer Service is second to none.
I bought a 150w ceramic with holder and cable kit. Nearly a week on and ive since learnt that like you I only need a 100w ceramic for the size of my viv.
Contacted Solaris yesterday lunchtime (Friday) and was told yes I can swap it, that a 100w ceramic would be sent 1st class that afternoon and I can return the 150w next week. There was a knock on the door at 8am this morning which was the posty delivering the ceramic. Also had emails from Bev at Solaris confirming that it had been sent.

Can't ask for any more than that really. Spot on.
