I wouldnt personally use a calcium based sand for lizards due to the risk of gut impaction. In my opinion play sand is a lot safer to use and is more astetically(sp) pleasing than a calcium based sand anyway as well as being a lot cheaper.

I no longer use sand but did so when i had beardies and leos.

The play sand is finely sifted so that you get the smallest grains of sand possible.Once it is dry it is like walking on a sand drift so to my mind as the sand moved with lazards walking on it it made for more and better exercise.
