Default Iggy stats, whats the best?

Im hoping at some point to get an iggy

Ive been looking into alot about them to make sure I know whats needed, and the fact that I spend alot of time at home I feel I can give it what it needs....BUT, I have a question

Because their viv will need to be so large, whats the best way of heating it?

Is there a stat that would do the job, or will I have to use 2 to help give it the warmer and cooler parts?

If so, whats the best to use? Can someone direct me to a non-rip off supplyer, or atleast links to the best so I can ask my contacts please

Many thanks

Dave

So, would the 1 dimmer stat do the job though or will I need a double stat for a cool and basking part?

What wattage will be needed for such a large lamp?

I expect I should not be answering this as its my partner that imports them, but I use Mega Rays for our iguanas, and larger vivs 160 for the free roamers and 100 for the large vivs these are MVBs and they are fitted like Weemix's above with pig reflector domes.

Southwest Exotics Home page.

i have two basking lamps because i have two iggys in that enclosure.i use 250watt pig lamps and two stats one on each of the lamps.i dont need any stats controlling the cool end as the thermal gradient is perfect in the enclosure.it all depends how big you are planning to have your enclosure.i have separate uv tubes on the top level of the enclosure.you could use 1 dimming stat and a secondry basking light that comes on for the first few hours in the morning till the enclosure reaches temp.then after that just use 1 lamp to maintain the temps.

thanks for all this info, very much appreciated

Just need to find out what to do about the front...tempted on maybe just putting a normal door on the front, makes it stronger and easier to get into the viv for cleaning times and removing/putting food or water in

not a proper full wooden door lol! Sorry, should of made myself a bit clearer haha!

I meant one of them doors with all the glass in already....Means I wont have to add in runnders or anything, its already there, just need to use a frame to hold it

what sized enclosure you thinking of?
would the glass in the door be the only glass in the viv?
iggys tend to charge the glass alot the glass needs to be toughened or laminated.is this for a baby/juvie or an adult iggy?or havent u decided yet?
