Hi all!
Today I got my solarmeter. It's a Lutron YK-34UV. It's said to be professional, made in Taiwan But it's £ 30 cheaper than the ubiquitous Solarmeter 6.2.The UVB output of the fluorescent tube is as expected. Only what concerns me is that very near to ordinary bulbs it shows a high UVB output, too, as high as the output from the Repti Glo tube. Now I haven't found anything about distortion of the sensor by heat. I presume the heat of the bulbs irritates the sensor. Does someone has any pointers? (On UV Guide UK - Ultraviolet Light for Reptiles - UVB reptile lighting on test I haven't found anything regarding heat or bulbs.)

it should say on the sola metre what temps it can work at but id guess anything over 150 degrees and it wouldnt function correclty.
a normal lightbulb cannot possibly give off uvb so its a malfunction.
