advice please!
Hi
Can anyone tell me if a habistat mat stat 100w is only for use with heat mats, can it not be used with a 100w ceramic heater?

Hi
Yes the Habistat matstat can be used with ceramic heaters, but a 100w would push it to far, you would be ok upto 75w. A 100w would go above that wattage if we got a voltage spike so you are always better staying slightly under the recommended wattage.

no!!!! there called mat stats for a reason, for a ceramic your best getting a pulse stat

yes best option is pulse... bbut mat stats are ok with them for up to 100 watt ceramics.
its just to switch it on and off, pulse or dimmers are better as ceramics work very well dimmed, but with on and off you get some degree of hot and cool areas i think, but they are fine if thats what you have till you can get a replacement stat.

I am getting a pulse proportional thermostat, but wondered if until it arrives a mat stat would work.
