exoterra tube
My exoterra 10.0 reptiglo has developed a dark spot about 2" from end.Is this normal or is it on its way out?Its 4 months old now,i was told they last ten months.If this needs replacing are reptisun tubes better?

Sounds to me it's on its way out, I know mine tend to do it, then just start flickering and eventually going. 4 Months is a bit gay though! Mine usually last the 10 months or so!

they do say replace every 6 months and some peeps have their tube on a longer cycle in the summer.. so if uve had it on say 15 hour per day summer light.. and only 11 winter it may run out quicker in summer.. but if 12/12 then maybe ure just unlucky..
as soon as u see grey bands its already stopped working properly... id recommend the new xo-terra curly bulbs that dont need a starter and are only 17.99 or thereabouts... they are great with a better reach that the tubes and they are meant to last longer too Repti Glo 10.0 10% UVB Compact Lamp
