Default would this work for tubs/rubs?

do u think i could use this rack:
BNIB BEECH & SILVER SCROLL EFFECT 5 TIER SHELVING - eBay Bookcases, Living Room Furniture, Home Garden (end time 04-Oct-07 20:00:00 BST)
with 64l RUBS?
its 750mm wide and the 64l RUB is 710mm long . would it squeeze in?
also its 30cm deep and the RUBS are 44cm so would be about 7cm overhang front and back.
Also are the RUB lids not that secure? ive seen soem great pics on here where the shelves are close to the lids to help keep them on?

just trying to find cheap alternative to vivs and not as good at woodwork as you guys lol

thinking of 2 or 3 RUBS in this for smaller snakes (corns) though not overly conviced they are big enough but will do for a while and i will haave a couple of proper vivs too

also do u have to have a thermostat per heatmat? what are best thermostats? (the thermostats look expensive if u gotta have 1 per heatmat)

thanks
tricky

The RUB lids are very secure as they are held closed by secure clips. The overhang wouldn`t worry me, but you`d lose an awful lot of heat with it being so open. Other than that it would do the job i think.

any idea on : "its 750mm wide and the 64l RUB is 710mm long . would it squeeze in?" ?

hadnt thought about the heat loss

just havent seen anything else affordable / wouldnt look too out of place

ALSO have seen TRANSPARENT GREEN rubs on their site, dunno if snakes would appreciate that at all? but isuppose the light they get may not be so natural then?

but would the rubs be secure if the snake went into the over hang area or would access weight send it crashing to the floor ?

hoping someone will work out the physics lol but i dont think a 7cm overhang containing snake could tip. think a corn may not be enough weight and anything bigger would be thicker than 7cm and probably have some of its weight on the shelf .
open to being told the reality though lol

I imagine it would go in, i suppose it depends on the measurements of the frame versus shelf, if that makes any sense? Like as long as there isn`t a bar in the way or anything.

The tubs wouldn`t tip with a 7cm overhang as long as it was centered. The other thing is you say about the 64l RUBs. TBH i find 50l is big enough for an adult corn, the 64l is the same base size, only taller.

thanks, yeah i think its gonna be a case of suck it and see for fitment

yes i get about the 64l versus the 50l and have seen various posts saying they are just as good and extra height not needed but im wary since im only just about considering rubs compared to vivs lol

how about peeps :

also do u have to have a thermostat per heatmat? what are best thermostats? (the thermostats look expensive if u gotta have 1 per heatmat)

and:

ALSO have seen TRANSPARENT GREEN rubs on their site, dunno if snakes would appreciate that at all? but isuppose the light they get may not be so natural then?
(and anyone seen em sold anywhere else besides their site?)

also has anyone seen any more suitable shelving units to take a similar number uf RUBS? im crap at woodwork lol

thanks
