Question Which Thermostat??

Hi all

i have just bought a 4x2x2 viv which is going to house a couple of Eastern Collared Lizards......when I can find any young ones for sale

Just wondering which habistat thermostat I should get.....does everyone use them on their set-ups (whatever lizard etc you've got)

Am thinking of the day/night one....not sure though

I will be buying this week a UV tube......will a 36inch tube be ok, and a heatmat and a spot bulb or similar for basking ......aswell as the necessary decor so that when I finally track some down they will be happy as pigs in s**t......so to speak

Lastly, I am thinking of buying 2, not for breeding purposes though...do you think they will seem lost in there or do you think possibly 3, all females if poss...what do you reckon

cheers

phil

i would go for a day/night pulse stat either habistat or microclimate ( i prefer the microclimate) and for the heat i would go for a ceramic heat heat bulb i think a 150w would be best. a 36in uv tube should be fine. i would go for the 10% ones.
hope this helps and if anyone thinks ive missed something or would do it differently pls correct me as i will be getting some collards in the near future.

Depends really what your wanting to use to heat your viv. If your getting a ceramic then a pulse proportionate is a good way to go.

I use a Habistat dimmerstat with a 100 reflector bulb for my BD's.

I dont bother with the day/night ones, just use a timer because the lights need to go off at night anyway for a proper day/night cycle.

A 36 inch UV will be fine but as said try to get a 10.0 one.

I use a 36" 10.0 UV tube and a 100W tight-beam sun-glo on a Habistat dimmer for my Mojave's. They're in a 3x2x2ft viv. The tube also has a reflector on it, and is about 1ft down from the top too.
