Kangaroos are.

If you were after a wallaby i'd suggest parmas as opposed to bennetts. i saw someone get a pasting from a bennetts. luckily he was a prick that deserved it. anyway the moral of the story is..... benetts are actually quite hard.

and no wallaby can truly tamed.

aesthetically pleasing if you got a lot o' land though.

We have em wild near me.

Sorry, spelling error.

meant to say that no wallaby can be truly tamed. they are very timid animals. i transported the bennets in my car and he had a hissy fit and the car nearly span off the A1. thankfully he was crated lol

in my defense i was unaware we were picking up wallabies.

hence my prick comment.

Ha that must have been something. I don't know i've been doing a lot of research and so far bennetts seem more interesting than parmas but then again i'm a bit odd and like a challenge.

Not planning anything yet though, got at least one more year to finish my degree, by then i'll be more qualified to look after whichever extra animal i decide on. Money will determine when and where and likely what as it always does

but man will i ever enjoy myself once i get there

thanks for the help

Oh, and by the way its really bugging me would you say this is a bennetts or a parma

Ah thought so thanks. I was pretty convinced cause of the muzzle and the face but then someone said they were parmas and i was like 'what i've been wrong for a year'.

They're such wonderful things to work with and timid i'll agree but not nearly as much as mara.

one last question, how much grazing space per bennet? I read a site that said a minimum of 50 ft by 50ft but wasn't sure how many bennetts that was a minimum for.

Last question i promise, i've got to get back to studying.

Strangely enough that just appeals more. I do love a good challenge, though i've just realised that i don't know how much they cost. Only prices i can find are in america.

I know i said the enclosure size was my last question but anyone got an idea of price ranges? I'd like to know how much i've got to be storing away on top of enclosure and vet safety net prices, might as well start working towards it now.

Strictly speaking we should be talking about Red-necked Wallabies. Bennett's is a subspecies of which there are no known pure individuals in the UK - despite what might be registered with ISIS.

If hand-reared, Red-necked Wallabies can retain their handleability. I worked with an adult one that was quite relaxed in being picked up and carried. This individual was a bit over confident and would see off the Red and Grey Kangaroos he cohabited with. He could be walked on a harness.
