Did you get them at the same time? What have you tried? Unfortunately with some chins it's a very long slow process.
The most successful way is to cage them side by side for a few weeks so they get used to each others smell. Swap sand baths and cages for the same reason over a few weeks. Supervised playtimes together for a few days then take the plunge and pop them in together. During this time try to decide which is the dominant chin and put them into the cage of the other one if you don't have a 'neutral' cage. There will be the odd mounting as they work out the dominance thing but if it gets too much seperate them and start over.

They were brought at seperate times from different places as 1 was my sisters, but we now feel they would enjoy the company of another chin, they have been housed next to eachother and so far no aggression only inquisitive behaviour

A little thing some people do is put a little talcum powder in the sand bath and get them both to use it, helps them to smell the same.
I see yoiu're not far from me, I'm in Lymington. Diane

Everything was moving very slowly, infact they stumbled past eachother a couple of and didn't even notice. Then when they came across one another they were sniffing eachothers face then they went away, they came back did the same thing again but this time were raised on their back legs. Suddenly out of no where Harvey [who we think will become the dominant male] landed on JR's [JR is slightly larger] back and started 'mounting' him, JR froze, Harvey was about to make another pounce and the chase was on. eventually Harvey gave up and started raiding JR's cage eating his food, in his dust bath.
Because Harvey wouldn't stop being physical we waited for him to go back in his own cage and shut it. My question now is how far do you let them go before you feel it's aggresion rather than just sorting dominance thankyou |

This is where it comes down to knowing your chins. If it's basically lots of chasing and mounting then that will settle. However if there's lots of fur flying ie chunks being pulled out not the loose hair type thing, or attempted biting then they need seperating.
