Code of Practice - Skunk Keeping
TSSKA
The Specialist Skunk Keepers’ Association have been asked to address the Code of Practice for Skunk Keeping in the United Keeping. We would like to hear from current and potential skunk owners to participate and contribute towards the working group of this species.TSSKA Skunk Code of Practice. The aim of any code of practice is to assist the enquirer or keeper with exotics to look after them properly.This code of practice as submitted by TSSKA is intended to promote the requirements necessary to maintain the level of care required by Skunks Welfare Needs The need for a suitable environment The need for a suitable diet The Need to be able to Exhibit Normal Behaviour Patterns Any need to be housed with or apart from, other animals The need to be protected from pain, suffering, injury and disease With a CoP we stand to gain good legal grounds and have an all too important say in the way legislation affects and deals with the ownership of this species.
