Skunk causes chaos!
So there I am, enjoying my lovely planned lengthy lie-in and in comes the other half.
"There's a snake in the kitchen".
I asked him, "what?" and he just repeated himself and went out. So off I trotted downstairs and sure enough, there on the hob was a snake, striking out every time my son Matthew tried to get hold of it. I took the glove and managed to, while being struck at, get hold of it. Still not sure exactly what snake it was, the only one I could think of that I've hardly seen that fitted the description was Stig, so off we went to check out his viv. Closed fully, with a wedge in the door.
So I'm thinking, this isn't Stig, this snake has come from somewhere else (started to get excited then as I thought we'd got a free snake just turn up), but just in case I got Matthew to rummage around in the viv and check for an occupant. No Stig. By this time the snake was calm and placid so I handed him over to Matthew and checked the viv myself. Definitely no snake in there, so I concluded that the now calm corn exploring Matthew must indeed be the elusive Stig.
Had a good check over the viv and discovered that one of the vents had been pushed in from the back - the only possible culprit being Mr Snuggles - and the snake had got out that way. Past the skunk, several cats and a GSD!!
Needless to say, the vents are now secured with sealant and I've made sure he can't get to any of the others!
