Default chipmunks

hello i have always thought of getting a chipmunk there amazing creatures but is hard to find any information on keeping them as pet's how big do there tanks need to be and what substrate do they use any information would be much appreciated

these dont do good in tanks, they need an aviary with which to climb and dig, will eat all sorts of seeds and insects, if u want to keep these build an outside aviary then in the summer u can watch them 4 hours playing ect. they need a lot of stimulation and exercise, fish tank wont suffice.

Someone has said this before and as said then you cant keep chippies in tanks they need a very large cage with ropes, branches and tubes. I have 2 young white males but find them really timid. The cage I have (Indoor aviary) has a wire bottom so I just sprinkle some hemcore on newspaper under the wire of the floor. They also like a digging box

my friend used to have 2 males called Chip and Dale they lived in an outdoor aviary and evry now and then he took them for a run around inside they were fun little guys

many thanks for the information i was goinuild a indoor aviary around 4 foot by 4 foot by 2 foot in my bedroom would that be big enough and how are they for smelling i mean will they smell my room out lol

As said they require a large cage. And they make fantastic little pets! Brave and bloody cheeky mind!
