Default skunk vid from youtube

it broke my heart watching this, but i think asking the question 'why is that happening?' will make a good discussion. if your not overly sensitive then have a look, it shows a skunk with neurological problems.

YouTube - Baby skunk showing neurological symptoms

YouTube - Neurological wild baby skunk "playing"

watched it now? sorry if it upset you.

now lets discuss what is wrong with this skunk.

poor baby..

well, not rabies, according to the girl who shot the video (a wildlife rehabilitator we are told)

it was rejected twice by the mother, which makes me think.... some sort of birth defect, or injury soon after birth occured..

a blow to the head, or spine.. possibly a tumor on the brain.. or just an animal not quite born right to begin with..

poor little one though, tbh, kinder for it that it was put to sleep..

Poor lil thing i have to agree the kindest thing would be to put it to sleep as the lil fella truely can t have much quality of life unless there is anything that could be done for it that is

What a terrible shame..

Having been rejected at birth I would agree it looks like it was born simply "not right" or suffered a trauma at or around parturition.

Was this the only baby born, or were others in the litter rejected also? I wonder if the mother was exposed to any pesticides/insecticides/vermin control whilst carrying?

Whatever the problem, Im not sure I could allow it to life in that state.

Dare i think out of the box and premise that it had been drugged?

Intentionally, or unintentionally, that skunk was many weeks old, and could obviously eat and behave "relativly" normally it seems strange that it would behave in this manner.

To me it looks as though it has had a dose of some drug that causes brain problems.
