Exclamation my harris hawk has been out again !!!

we went out this evening for a drive around with pipper ! and she caught a phesant !! really pleased with her !! pics ant the best as it was just going dark !

Wow, thats amazing.
Did you just let her fly in the dark? Were you not worried she could of flown away or something?

at the racing stables were i work some people come there a lot with these, they are amazing to watch.

just out of curiosity, does she eat it after she has killed it?

nar she cant eat it all !!! she only can have 2oz of meat or 2 chicks with the yoke sac's taken out ! to keep her at hunting weight ! if she go's over she dont like coming back ! ive just bought a telermentry "tracker " so if she dose fly off i can find her !

what happens with the pheasant that is left over? do you freeze that to feed at a later date?

yep its skined and cut in to lots of 2 oz bag's and put in the freezer ! if not me ferrets make short work in a phesant gone in a couple of hours !!

She is gorgeous !!!

Just make sure she doesn't catch peoples cats, small dogs, chickens or pet rabbits or you'll have some angry folk about but I suppose the only thing you can do is go to places with no houses around to stop that happening?
